El Mascotte is a hotel that has preserved its neoclassical architecture from the 1860s. The fact of preserving its facilities recalls that it was the home of the sugar barons of the town of Remedios, before being transformed into a hotel - with the Telegraph - in 1879.
Remedios was one of the first Cuban cities founded by Spanish colonizers and has a rich tradition and history from its fun carnival in December, to its well-preserved colonial architecture. It also has an authentic and intriguing environment that many visitors find contagious.
